Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer Evraz Group, has announced the development of new steel grades X70 and X80, which have high requirements as regards chemical composition.

The new steel grades are intended to be used in the production of large diameter pipes which are employed in the construction of high-pressure gas pipelines.
The steel grades in question are characterized by high resistance to wear and also by purity of surface structure.
