VIZ-Stal, the Ekaterinburg-based subsidiary of the Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), has announced that in the first nine months of this year it increased its steel product output by 68 percent compared to the same period last year to about 113,000 mt, including more than 112,000 mt of transformer steel and 700 mt of dynamo steel.

Accordingly, in January-September this year, the share of high steel grades in the plant's overall production increased by one percent year on year to 99 percent.

VIZ-Stal stated that the year-on-year increase in its transformer steel output is due to the gradual revival of world market demand for this type of product.
