Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced its production and sales data for the last quarter and the full year of 2019. According to the company’s statement, NLMK's crude steel output in the last quarter totaled 3.8 million mt, down by 13 percent year on year and increasing by one percent compared to the previous quarter due to the completion of repair works at NLMK Lipetsk BF and BOF operations. In 2019, the company produced 15.7 million mt of crude steel, falling by ten percent year on year.

In the last quarter, NLMK Group's total steel product sales increased by four percent to 4.2 million mt compared to the previous quarter, while declining by ten percent year on year.

In the given period, domestic sales totaled 2.9 million mt, up one percent quarter on quarter, supported by higher hot rolled steel and long products’ sales in the Russian market, while its export sales totaled 1.3 million mt, up two percent quarter on quarter.

In 2019, NLMK’s sales volumes totaled 17.1 million mt, falling by three percent on year-on-year basis. In the given period, the company’s domestic sales increased by seven percent to 11.4 million mt year on year owing to increasing demand for finished flat steel and rebar in Russia, while its export sales fell by 15 percent to 5.8 million mt on year-on-year basis, due to a decline in export sales of billets and lower pig iron sales amid repair works at NLMK Lipetsk.
