NBS: China’s crude steel output up one percent in August

In August this year, China's crude steel output amounted to 68.91 million mt, up 1.0 percent year on year, with this growth rate 0.5 percentage points lower than that recorded in July. During the given month, the average daily crude steel output in China came to 2.223 million mt, up 0.86 percent month on month.

In the January-August period of the current year, crude steel output in China amounted to 549.67 million mt, up 2.6 percent year on year, with this growth rate 0.1 percentage point lower than that recorded in the January-July period.

In August, China's pig iron output amounted to 60.33 million mt, up 0.2 percent year on year, while the pig iron output amounted to 483.25 million mt in the January-August period, up 0.5 percent year on year.

In August, China's finished steel output amounted to 94.97 million mt, up 2.4 percent year on year, while the finished steel output amounted to 742.10 million mt in the January-August period, up 5.4 percent year on year.
