MSC invests in capacity expansion projects

Mohammad Rajaei, chairman and CEO of Iranian flat steel producer Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC), has disclosed that over Rial 20 trillion ($2.14 billion) has been invested in MSC for the completion of expansion and capacity building projects.

Mr. Rajaei went on to say that one of the projects which are currently underway is aimed at increasing MSC's steel production capacity up to 10 million metric tons a year.

Regarding the overall mission of MSC, Mr. Rajaei stated, "The present mission of Mobarakeh Steel Company is to continuously improve its activities, build new capacities, assimilate the industry in the region, establish an e-organization, address the environment, interact with society and perform its social missions, and in this respect, MSC follows its plans using its experience gained in the past."

Speaking about the domestic steel market in Iran, Mr. Rajaei emphasized that MSC will maintain its current market share of 45 percent of the local steel production output, in line with the fulfillment of its 20-year economic outlook plan.
