In response to imposition of 25 percent tariffs by the US on another $16 billion Chinese imports from August 23, China decided to levy 25 percent of $16 billion US goods as well, effective the same date, as announced by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) in the evening of August 8. Meanwhile, MOC said that the latest move by the US once again overrode international law by domestic law, which is very unjustifiable.
