MOC: Average finished steel price in China edges up slightly

On October 28, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (October 20-26) the overall average finished steel price in China rose by 0.1 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of both high-speed wire rod and rebar in China increased by 0.5 percent, while average prices of both common cold rolled sheet and common medium plate declined by 0.4 percent, all week on week.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China decreased by 0.5 percent compared to the previous week. The average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2%) declined by 5.2 percent week on week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of coal in China decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous week. In particular, the average prices of thermal coal and anthracite coal decreased by 0.4 percent and 0.2 percent respectively, while coking coal prices increased by 0.2 percent, all week on week.
