MOC: Average finished steel price in China down 0.2 percent

On May 5, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (April 27-May 3) the overall average finished steel price in China decreased by 0.2 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of hot dip galvanized (HDG) and cold rolled common steel sheet in China decreased by 0.7 percent and 0.5 percent week on week, respectively.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous week. The average price of nickel (Ni >= 99.2%) rose by 6.6 percent compared to the previous week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of coal in China decreased by 0.3 percent week on week. In particular, the average prices of anthracite coal, thermal coal and coking coal declined by 0.2 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.2 percent week on week, respectively.
