Iranian state-run steelmaker Mobarakeh Steel produced 3,188,000 mt of steel slab in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating an increase of nine percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

In the one-month period from October 21 to November 20, Mobarakeh Steel produced 442,000 mt of slab, which constitutes a record monthly slab output for the company. Revamping of eight electric arc furnaces (EAFs) by Mobarakeh via upgrading of transformers from 90 MW to 120 MW has recently contributed to increasing the steelmaker's output.
