MMK releases 2006 production data

In 2006 the Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) recorded a 3.9 percent decrease in production of iron ore, a 3.9 percent increase in production of agglomerate, a 1.4 percent decrease in production of coke, a 0.8 percent increase in production of pig iron, a 9.4 percent rise in production of crude steel and a 9.4 percent rise in production of finished steel products year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 1.5 million, 10.7 million, 5.5 million, 9.73 million, 12.5 million and 12.1 million. In December alone, MMK produced 135,200 metric tons of iron ore, 837,200 metric tons of agglomerate, 441,400 metric tons of coke, 777,900 metric tons of pig iron, 1.1 million metric tons of crude steel and 1.1 million metric tons of finished steel products.
