During the January-November 2006 period, the Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (
MMK) recorded a 6.5 percent decrease in
production of
iron ore, a 5.5 percent increase in
production of agglomerate, a 2.7 percent rise in
production of coke, a 1.5 percent increase in
production of
pig iron, a 9.1 percent rise in
production of crude steel and a 10.2 percent rise in
production of finished steel products year-on-year. The respective figures in metric tons were 1.3 million, 9.9 million, 5.06 million, 8.96 million, 11.3 million and 10.5 million.
In November alone,
MMK produced 131,100 metric tons of
iron ore, 848,800 metric tons of agglomerate, 431,400 metric tons of coke, 1.09 million metric tons of crude steel and 980,500 metric tons of finished steel products.
