The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has issued its production results for January-October 2007.
Accordingly, during the period in question, MMK produced 7.958 million metric tons of pig iron - down 2.8 percent, 11.046 million metric tons of crude steel - up 7.5 percent, 10.678 million metric tons of rolled steel products - up 7.2 percent, and 1.248 million metric tons of iron ore - up 3.8 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
However, during the given period MMK reduced its sintering ore output by 6.5 percent to 8.47 million metric tons and its coke output by 3.1 percent to 4.48 million metric tons.
In addition, during the first 10 months of 2007, the share of exports in MMK's total production decreased to 38.8 percent from 46.4 percent registered in the corresponding period of last year.
