Mittal: Considerable overcapacity worldwide and at ArcelorMittal

Speaking at the Steel Success Strategies meeting in New York, chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal Lakshmi Mittal said that the uncertainty in the steel market is far from being over yet. Mr. Mittal said that there are important global political and economic decisions to be taken and that steel demand remains critical for economic activity and GDP growth.

Mr. Mittal added that ArcelorMittal is focusing seriously on growing its mining capacities and plans to be among the most sustainable steel and mining companies. He also emphasized that there is considerable overcapacity in the world and at ArcelorMittal.
