MIIT: China’s dated capacity elimination almost completed for 2010

According to the statement made on October 29 by Zhu Hong, spokesman for China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), as of the end of September the task of eliminating outdated capacities for 2010 implemented by local governments in all regions of China has almost been completed.

Mr. Zhu added that industrial production in China has sustained rapid growth and that the operating conditions of domestic enterprises have improved in the first three quarters of this year. He stated that, in the given period, the added-value of China's larger industrial enterprises saw 16.3 percent growth in the January-September period of this year as compared to the corresponding period of 2009, with this growth 7.6 percentage points higher on year-on-year basis.
