AK Steel today rejected the contract proposal submitted by the union representing the locked out Middletown workers. Both sides met for an hour and a half Wednesday to discuss the company's counterproposal to the union's previously submitted proposal. Still, no resolution or evident progress was reached, and the two sides still remain at a bitter stalemate. No new meeting dates for further negotiations have been set.
