Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, said this week it will maintain existing antidumping (AD) tariffs against imports of Chinese steel wire while also investigating the imports.

SE said the products subject to the exiting tariffs and to the on-going investigation fall under the HS codes 7312.10.01, 7312.10.05, 7312.10.07 and 7312.10.99.

The Mexican government said it set the period review from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019, while the analysis period goes from July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2019. SE said the imports will continue to be subject to a $2.58/kg tariff.

The investigation follows a request from domestic producers Aceros Camesa and Deacero.
