Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, said on Monday it has opened a proposed steel norm for public consultation.

According to SE, the PROY-NMX-B-119-CANACERO-2017 steel norm will replace the NMX-B-119-1983 regulation.

The PROY-NMX-B-119-CANACERO-2017 sets the probe methods to determine the Rockwell hardness and the Rockwell superficial hardness of metal materials through the Rockwell penetration principle.

The interested parties have 60 days to present their comments to the new regulation.
