Mexico imposes provisional AD duty on certain welded pipe imports

Mexico's Secretariat of Economy has announced that it has imposed provisional antidumping (AD) duties on welded pipe imports from the US, Spain and India.

The provisional antidumping duty rates are 56.44 percent for the US, 5.5 percent for the Spanish pipe maker Siderúrgica de Tubo Soldado and 73 percent for other Spanish exporters, while the provisional duty rate for India stands at 55.28 percent.

The investigation has found that the products were imported from the US, Spain and India with margins of price discrimination between 5.15 percent and 73 percent. Additionally, the share of imports from the abovementioned countries among Mexico's total imports increased from seven percent in the April 2011-March 2012 period to 81 percent in the investigation period (April 2013-March 2014).

The products subject to provisional antidumping duty currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7305.11.01, 7305.11.99, 7305.12.01, 7305.12.99, 7305.19.01 and 7305.19.99.
