Mexican iron pellet production decreases 2.1 percent in August

Mexican iron pellet production in August declined 2.1 percent, year-on-year, to 611,213 mt, according to data from local statistics agency, Inegi. Despite the year-on-year decrease, Inegi said domestic iron pellet output in August rose 6.5 percent, month-on-month, from 573,979 mt in July 2019.

Mexican iron pellet production in the accumulated period from January to August fell 1.5 percent, year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the Mexican mining and metals production index in August grew 1 percent, month-on-month, and 3.7 percent, year-on-year.
