Mexican iron pellet output increases 4.2 percent in May

Mexican iron pellet output in May rose 4.2 percent, year-over-year, to 518,321 mt, statistics agency, Inegi, said on Friday. Output in May increased 6.8 percent, month-over-month, from 485,203 mt in April this year.

Inegi said Mexican iron pellet production in the accumulated period of January to May this year dropped 3.6 percent, year-over-year.

The mining and metals production index in May improved 1.6 percent, month-over-month, and 31.5 percent, year-over-year.
