Mexican industrial output declines in September

Mexican industrial production in September declined 2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by local statistics agency, Inegi.

The local statistics agency said Mexican industrial output in September remained stable, with zero growth, when compared to August this year.

Inegi said industrial output at the local mining and civil construction segments in September dropped 3 percent, and 7.3 percent, year-on-year, respectively. On the other hand, industrial production in the local manufacturing sector in September slightly improved 0.1 percent, year-on-year.

Inegi said local industrial output for the civil construction segment in September fell 2.1 percent, month-on-month, while production for the mining sector in the same period slightly rose 0.1 percent, also on a month-on-month basis.

The Mexican manufacturing segment saw industrial production in September grow 0.6 percent, when compared to August 2019.
