Mexican auto production increases in August

Mexican auto production in August rose 0.4 percent, year-on-year, to 369,543 units, the nation’s automotive industry association, AMIA, said.

According to AMIA, domestic sales of vehicles in August dropped 5.3 percent, year-on-year, to 118,715 units.

AMIA said Mexican auto production in the accumulated period of January to August was 2.6 million units, 0.1 percent up, year-on-year.

On the other hand, domestic sales of autos in the same eight-month period was 913,726 units, 7.8 percent down, year-on-year.
