The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) has announced that in 2010 its iron ore subsidiaries produced 35.726 million mt of iron ore concentrate - up 16.6 percent, and 12.11 million mt of pellets - up 3.8 percent, both compared to 2009.
Specifically, in 2010, Metinvest's iron ore subsidiary Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works (CGOK) increased its iron ore concentrate output by 21.3 percent to 6.072 million mt, but saw a 0.7 percent drop in its pellet production to 2.21 million mt, both compared to 2009.
In 2010, Northern Iron Ore Enrichment Works (SevGOK) produced 14.219 million mt of iron ore concentrate - up 3.33 percent year on year, and 9.9 million mt of pellets - up 4.9 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in 2010, Metinvest subsidiary Ingulets Iron Ore Enrichment Works (InGOK) registered a 30 percent increase year on year in its iron ore concentrate production to 15.435 million mt.
