Metinvest to launch new longwall face at mine n.a. Barakov in July

Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest has announced that its mining subsidiary Krasnodonugol has prepared the fully-mechanized northern longwall face No. 17 at mine n.a. Barakov for operations. The deposits of the new longwall face have over 600,000 mt of high-quality coking coal of Zh grade. The launch of mining is scheduled for July this year. Currently, the installation of mining equipment is being carried out. The length of the longwall face is 300 meters. Coal mining will be conducted at a depth of 756 meters.
