Ukraine-based vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest has announced that its subsidiary Metinvest SMC (service metal centers) has opened a new service center in the southeastern Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, with planned sales volumes for the current year expected to amount to about 50,000 mt.

Metinvest's new service center in Mariupol is located in proximity to Metinvest's steelmaking subsidiaries Azovstal and MMK Illicha (MMKI), and this is expected to enable smooth and timely delivery of these mills' products. It is anticipated that the monthly sales volume of the new service center will amount to 7,000 mt in the current year.

Metinvest stated that this year it is also planning to open service centers in the Ukrainian cities of Lviv and Vinnitsa.
