Metinvest commissions new blast furnace at Yenakievo Steel

Ukraine's largest vertically integrated steel and mining group Metinvest has announced that it has commissioned a modern blast furnace at its subsidiary Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works (Yenakievo Steel).

The new blast furnace No. 3 will increase the plant's annual hot metal production capacity by 1.2 million mt to total 3 million mt of pig iron per year. The investment in the construction of the furnace was over US$220 million.
