Accordingly, during the period in question Metalloinvest's iron ore segment, which consists of Lebedinsky GOK and Mikhailovsky GOK, increased its iron ore concentrate production by 1.3 percent and its sintering ore production by 10 percent, but registered a 0.5 percent decrease in its pellets production and a 4.3 percent drop in its HBI production year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 19.05 million, 1.1 million, 9.67 million and 490,540.
On the other hand, in the first six months of 2007 the company's steel division, which consists of OEMK and Ural Steel, decreased its production levels. In particular, during the given period, OEMK and Ural Steel produced a combined total of 3.09 million metric tons of crude steel - down 1.1 percent, and 2.38 million metric tons of finished steel products - down 1.2 percent, and 1.33 million metric tons of pig iron - up two percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
