Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, has reported that its subsidiary Мechel Somani Carbon Private Limited has launched a screening facility at a coal terminal in Vishakhapatnam on India's east coast. This will greatly expand Mechel's capacity for marketing coal in the promising Indian market.

Mechel Somani Carbon Private Limited's screening facility at the coal terminal will enable the company to sort anthracites supplied by Mechel's mining enterprises. The screening facility's designed capacity is 250,000 mt a year.
