Manganese ore exports via Port Hedland fall 64% in June from May

In June this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 58,500 metric tons, falling 64 percent compared to May this year and down 65 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

Meanwhile, in June this year India was the leading destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, receiving 28,000 metric tons. India was followed by South Korea, which received 17,000 metric tons of manganese ore exports from Port Hedland in the given month. 
 
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
