Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Maanshan Iron and Steel has announced that in 2010 its sales volume of H-beam increased to 1.6784 million mt. Of this figure, 219,700 mt consisted of exports, principally to Japan, Southeast Asia and North America. In addition, Maanshan Steel's H-beam sales to Hong Kong surged on year-on-year basis in 2010.
Maanshan Steel stated that in 2010 it focused on improving product quality and expanding its market share, while it also developed new H-beam products, e.g. applicable in offshore oil platforms and steel piles used in the foundations of buildings.
