LNM is planning to acquire JSW

According to recent industry news, LNM is planning to acquire Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa (JSW), a Polish state-owned coking coal mining company, including its high quality coking coal mining plant and Zaklady Koksownicze Przyjazn mining, as a part of its expansion plans. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, LNM signed an agreement with Polish government to acquire PHS, related with its expansion plans. It is also reported that LNM will establish a new company, which will be in charge of all coking coal mines of LNM. LNM's attempt to acquire several coking coal mines holds great importance, especially at a time when many producers are suffering from coke shortage. For instance, one of the major integrated steel producers of US, Weirton Steel closed some of its operations temporarily due to coke shortage problem, as recently reported by SteelOrbis.
