Latin America accounts for 27 percent of global mining investments in 2010

According to figures issued by the Center for Copper and Mining Studies (CESCO), total global investment in mineral exploration in 2010 reached $11.2 billion, with Latin America accounting for 27 percent.

Five countries - Mexico, Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina - accounted for 83 percent of total investment in mineral exploration in Latin America in 2010.
