US steel processor and distributor Kloeckner Metals Corporation inaugurated its second operations center in the Mexican state of Queretaro, in which it invested $40 million, the state government reported in a press release.

In an area of almost 8,000 square meters in the municipality of El Marques, located 5.0 miles east of the state capital, Kloeckner stocks HRPO, cold rolled, galvanized coated steel and ultra-high strength carbon steel, among others.

The new Kloeckner facility joins the one located in the northern city of Apodaca, Nuevo Leon. The company serves the automotive, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and appliance manufacturers, alongside metal forming stampers and telecommunications and electronics enclosure builders industries.

From Queretaro, companies located in the center of the country will be served, such as Mexico City, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Puebla and Queretaro, mainly. To serve the south of the country, the company has leased warehouses in the central state of Puebla and in the western city of Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The Queretaro facilities have the rail infrastructure to transport cargo through the Canadian Pacific Kansas City unit in Mexico.
