Khuzestan Steel ups production and exports

During the first three months of the current Iranian year (i.e. from March 21 to June 20, 2008), the Iranian steelmaker Khuzestan Steel increased its steel production and exports.

Accordingly, the company's production during the period in question totaled 593,000 mt, while its exports amounted to 44,000 mt.

Currently, Khuzestan Steel ranks as the second largest steel producer in the country, producing various types of steel products, including ingots, billets, slabs and blooms. With the completion of its investment projects, such as the Zamzam project, the installation of wide sheet production and the completion of the second phase of its steel development project aimed at increasing production capacity, the plant's production capacity will increase to 3.2 million mt.
