According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in January this year Kazakhstan registered a 41.7 percent increase year on year in its crude steel production and a 27.7 percent year-on-year growth in its production of flat rolled steel, rising to 413,083 mt and 271,795 mt respectively. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's tinplate production for the first month of this year amounted to 19,810 mt - up 14.8 percent year on year.
In January, Kazakhstan's output of ferroalloys went down by 2.4 percent year on year to 144,685 mt, its sintered and non-sintered iron ore output dropped by 1.3 percent to 1.947 million mt, while its iron ore pellet production went up by 1.4 percent to 794,100 mt, all compared to the same month last year. The country's coal output in January this year increased by 21 percent year on year to 11.13 million mt, while its coke output went up 9.9 percent year on year to 238,500 mt.
