Kardemir receives environmental approval for capacity increase

Turkish integrated long steel producer Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Kardemir) has announced that it has received a notification dated July 31, 2012 from Turkey's Ministry of Environment and Urbanism approving Kardemir's environmental impact assessment (EIA) report in relation to its planned steelmaking capacity increase.
 
Kardemir had submitted the EIA report to the ministry regarding its plans to increase the liquid steel production capacity at its iron and steel plant to 3.5 million mt per year.
