Turkish integrated long steel producer Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Kardemir) has announced that its production figures in the January-November period of the current year have already surpassed the production figures for the full year of 2016.
In the January-November period this year, Kardemir’s crude steel production amounted to 2.18 million mt, while the company expects to produce 2.40 million mt of crude steel in the full year of 2017 compared to 2.17 million mt of crude steel produced in 2016.
In the first eleven months of the current year, the company’s total rail, section and angle production reached 367,000 mt, increasing from the 360,000 mt recorded in 2016. Meanwhile, as of the end of the current year, the company expects to produce 400,000 mt of rail, section and angle. In addition, Kardemir’s bar-in-coil production increased to 242,000 mt in the January-November period of this year, while the company expects to produce 274,000 mt of bar-in-coil in the current year, compared to 55,000 mt produced in the previous year.
Kardemir also stated that its finished steel sales amounted to 2.12 million mt in the January-November period, while it expects its finished steel sales in the full year to increase to 2.32 million mt from 2.06 million mt recorded in 2016.
