JSW’s crude steel output down three percent in H1

JSW Steel, one of the largest Indian steelmakers, produced 3.84 million mt of crude steel in the second quarter of the financial year 2019-20 (started April 1, 2019), showing a decrease of eight percent year on year, due to prolonged severe monsoon in general and slackened demand from automotive industry in particular. In addition to that, during the same period the company produced 2.71 million mt of flat rolled products, decreasing by eight percent year, while it produced 820,000 mt of long rolled products, down by nine percent, both year on year.

In the first half of the financial year 2019-20, the company’s crude steel production totaled 8.08 million mt, down by three percent, while its flat steel production totaled 5.62 million mt, decreasing by four percent and its long steel production totaled 1.87 million mt, increasing by one percent, all year on year.
