JSW Steel, one of the largest Indian steelmakers has announced that it has produced 1.25 million mt of crude steel in October this year, decreasing by 13.3 percent compared to 1.47 million mt recorded in October 2018.

In addition, during the same month the company produced 977,000 mt of flat rolled products, decreasing by three percent, while it produced 258,000 mt of long rolled products, down by 25 percent, both year on year.

The company’s operational results have been affected by the extended monsoon rains and the temporary shutdown of the blast furnaces at its Salem plant due to lower demand from the automotive sector.
