JSW Steel cuts domestic steel prices

Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Ltd (JSW) has announced that it has cut the domestic prices of its steel products by up to Rupees 2,000/mt (approx. $44/mt) with effect from September 1.

The price cut follows the falling trend in the international market, JSW's President (Marketing) Jayant Acharya stated.

However, Mr. Acharya went on to say that the company's high input cost pressure has not changed and that its impact is still high.

JSW Steel expects to see an increase in demand for and prices of steel from October this year.
