Japan’s vehicle sales drop in March

Japan's Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) disclosed that the country's domestic sales of new cars, trucks and buses, excluding mini-vehicles, fell 1.2% year on year to 568'043 units in March. Passenger car sales slipped 0.3% to 490'742 units last month while truck and bus sales tumbled 6.6% and 7.6% to 73'745 and 3'556 units respectively. JADA indicates that overall new vehicle sales fell 2.2% year on year to 3.94 million units during the first three months of 2005.
