According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in June this year increased by 7.1 percent on tonnage basis compared to May, increasing to 18 ships, compared to 12 ships recorded in May, totaling 536,000 gross tons, including 11 bulk carriers, two general cargo ships and five tankers.
In the first six months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 98 ships with an aggregate of 4.43 million gross tons, down 2.4 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in June this year Japan delivered 18 ships for export, totaling 1.18 million gross tons, compared to 17 ships totaling 587,398 gross tons recorded in May.
Meanwhile, in the January-June period of the current year, Japan delivered 110 ships for export, totaling 5.65 million gross tons, falling by 17.3 percent year on year.
