Japan's new ship export orders decrease in September from August

According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in September this year fell by 56.3 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, decreasing to 17 ships, compared to 21 ships recorded in August, totaling 668,098 gross tons, including 14 bulk carriers,  two tankers and one general cargo ship.

In the first nine months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 154 ships with an aggregate of 7.216 million gross tons, up 2.2 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in September this year Japan delivered 13 ships for export, totaling 1,052,257 gross tons, compared to 18 ships totaling 905,228 gross tons recorded in August.

Meanwhile, in the January-September period of the current year, Japan delivered 152 ships for export, totaling 7.97 million gross tons, falling by 14.5 percent year on year.
