Japanese steelmaker Kobe Steel has announced that local automaker Toyota Motor Corporation has started using ‘Kobenable Steel’ for making auto components like hydrogen engines.

Kobenable Steel is known as the company’s and Japan’s first low carbon-emission blast furnace steel.

The steel in question is available in different types of products like steel sheet, steel plate, wire rod and bar products. It is produced at Kobe Steel’s Kakogawa works and Kobe Wire Rod & Bar Plant.

According to the company, these products have the same quality as conventional counterparts.

Kobe Steel pledges to contribute to green transformation by providing a wide range of low-carbon products.
