Japanese Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) has announced the country's steel product output results for 2010.
According to the data released by JISF, Japan's wide flange beams, heavy section and medium/light section production was up 8.1 percent, down 3 percent and up 13.8 percent, reaching 3.18 million mt, 997.300 mt and 1.02 million mt, respectively. Looking at 2010 wire rod production, the country's bars in coil, ordinary wire rod, low carbon wire rod and high carbon wire rod outputs increased 9.6 percent, 5.5 percent, 33.5 percent and 18.1 percent over 2009, totaling 454,300 mt, 654,700 mt, 109,600 mt and 652,800 mt, respectively.
HR heavy plate output reached 12.42 million metric tons, up 10.3 percent, HR wide strip production was 45.77 million mt, up 33.5 percent, CR wide strip output amounted to 23.23 million mt, up 35.7 percent, galvanized sheet production totaled 13.5 million mt, up 39.7 percent, and welded pipe output was 4.29 million metric tons, up by 17.4 percent, all compared to 2009.
