Japan reviewing situation for retaliatory tariffs

Japanese officials state that they are not satisfied with the US product exemptions granted so far and are in expectation of further exclusions. The US announcement of deadline extension for the completion of product exclusions without publishing any additional exemptions for Japan created a disappointment and led Japanese officials back to preparing retaliatory tariffs. Japan emphasizes that they still appreciate the US positive approach to product exclusions but also reminds that unless concrete concessions are not offered they cannot wait for long and might have to go ahead to bring the retaliatory tariffs into force. Japan asked for around 750'000tons of product exemptions so far and have only been granted 250'000tons.
