Iran's Jalal Abad iron ore mine produced 965,000 mt of iron ore in the last Iranian year (ended March 20), marking a rise of 13 percent over the volume of 852,000 mt recorded in the previous Iranian year, as announced by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
The Jalal Abad iron ore mine, located close to Zarand in the southern Iranian province of Kerman province, has iron ore reserves of over 200 million mt. The mine, which supplies both the local and export markets, is targeting an output of 1 million mt of iron ore for the current Iranian year.
