Italy's crude steel output up 1.3 percent in August

In August this year, Italian crude steel output increased by 1.3 percent year on year to 998,000 metric tons, following 10 consecutive months of year-on-year decreases, while in the first eight months of the year the output figure amounted to 14.643 million mt, down 9.5 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai.
Italian crude steel output in August of the current year was lower compared to the crude steel outputs of 1.444 million mt in August 2011 and 1.176 million mt in August 2012, and slightly higher compared to the output of 994,000 mt recorded in August 2013.
