Italy's crude steel output down four percent in April

In April this year, Italian crude steel output decreased by four percent year on year to 2.031 million metric tons, while in the first four months of the year the output figure amounted to 8.652 million mt, up 5.8 percent year on year, according to the figures released by Italian steel producers association Federacciai. The year-on-year decrease recorded in April is the first since November 2013, when Italian crude steel output had declined by four percent year on year.
 
The output in April of the current year was also lower compared to the crude steel outputs of 2.242 million mt in April 2010, 2.489 million mt in April 2011 and 2.392 million mt in April 2012.
