Italian crude steel production slumps in August

Italian producers' crude steel output declined by 26.6 percent year on year in August this year to 857,000 mt, as per the latest report issued by the Italian steel association Federacciai. The last time the Italian output decreased below one million mt was in August 2014, when 985,000 mt were produced.

In the first eight months of 2019, Italian crude steel production amounted to 15.41 million mt, down 4.5 percent year on year.
